Laila Campbell

A very talented Canadian artist.

ART by SALTIEL

I am blessed with a talent that has taken me on travels around the world and
presented me with opportunities to paint in such inspiring places as Monet’s
gardens at Giverny, and Van Gogh’s asylum in Saint Remy. I have also stood
alone in the studios of Cézanne and Renoir; in all of these places I have felt
the unmistakable presence of, and connection to, those artists who had lived
and painted there decades before me.

Marion Evamy

Marion is a Canadian artist blessed to be living in beautiful Victoria, B.C.
Her works are infused with radiant jewel toned colors and unique applications.
The characters she paints are strong graphic figures with pattern and texture.
Her abstracts search for that elusive sentiment between turmoil and harmony.
Marion describes her style as “chameleon” with subject matter and painterly approach changing regularly- but always recognizable by the color pallet she loves to use!

Marion is also the “premiere pooch” and owner of Pup Art Studios---her bold, colourful, and larger than life-size portraits are custom painted for dog owners all over North America and Europe.

Marion is represented by Red Art Gallery in Victoria, B.C.

Jean Pederson

Jean is the author of “Expressive Portraits: Creative Methods for Painting People”. She has been painting for over twenty years, balancing her strong teaching abilities, and writing with her continuing aspiration to convey her ideas in visual form.

Jean’s traditional practice includes referential imagery of people, still life, landscape and abstraction. The layering of a variety of media offer Jean a assortment of possibilities within her work; quality of edge, line and texture all play a role within her imagery. Although Pederson is well known for her mastery of watercolours, mixed media has become an important venue for her creative expression.

The portraits in her paintings are based on people who she has met or impacted her. These subjects in her paintings often reflect different walks of life as well as diverse cultural and religious backgrounds. We are hard pressed to find a period in time when the human figure wasn’t represented. Finding a way to express the human figure in a language that reflects the twenty-first century is perhaps the greatest challenge in figurative work today.

Jean has work placed in the Royal Collection in Winsor England, and has been honored with numerous National and International awards over the years. In 2005 Jean was the first recipient of the Federation of Canadian Artists Early Achievement Award, granted for her many honors, awards, international writing to promote art education, and consistent, exceptional painting.

Tanya Bone

Tanya works with a variety of mediums but for the most part she strives to work in a classical way with traditional media. Her focus in the studio is Still Life where she can stage-manage the subject matter and work with either natural or manipulated light. She also finds time and takes great joy in painting en plein air at one of the many treasured niches surrounding her Steveston home and wherever many a road trip may lead. Tanya is an associate member of the Federation of Canadian Artists, as well as a member of the Northwest Watercolor Society, Richmond Artists’ Guild and South Delta Artists’ Guild.

Perry Haddock

Perry Haddock is a Canadian artist from the south coast of British Columbia, near Vancouver. His paintings reveal his West Coast roots and his love of the coastal images near his home. Painting primarily in acrylic and watercolour, Perry's impressionistic style is the result of his keen observation of the colours and textures of nature, and his efforts to record his impressions in broad strokes. Many of his paintings are developed from sketches or studies done on site, and his fondest painting experiences are those "en plein air".

Mike Callahan

Mike Callahan lives near Reno, Nevada with his wife, Roben and their three children. He paints subjects ranging from Sierra Landscapes, Wildlife and Western themes to Portraits and Daily Paintings.
Mike currently holds a day job as Senior Graphic Artist for the world's largest manufacturer of slot machines. He is also the Graphics Department trainer responsible for the training and progression of some thirty plus artists as well as the innovation, development and implementation of new production techniques utilizing Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. Mike has been in the graphics industry for over twenty years but recently has begun a return to his first love - oil painting.
